Solar pump controller is an electronic device that controls the circulating pump to harvest more heat as possible from the solar panels and it also protects the system for overheating. When there is heat available in the panels the controller turns the circulating pump and moves the working fluid through the panels to the heat exchanger at the thermal store.
Solar pump system uses the generated power from PV and converts it. The solar pump system includes photovoltaic panel, electronic device, and AC motor, whereas an electronic device is a combination of Inverter, MPPT, and VFD.
How Does It Work?
Solar pump controller consists of an array of solar panels that are connected in series and parallel configuration to generate the power and voltage required. With the variable voltage and frequency, solar drive converts the DC voltage input to a 3-Phase AC output. In the sunlight, the MPPT algorithm of solar drive extracts maximum power and also operates the motor at a variable speed based on the power input to drive. The frequency range of drive operates depending upon the motor, speed, hydraulic system and the power available from the solar panel.
When the Sunshine varies during the day, the power input to the drive also varies and the solar drive generates variable ratio to control the speed of the motor.
